Siesta Co. Mackerel in Yuzu Koshō

Yuzu koshō is a Japanese condiment made with yuzu peel, green chili, and salt. Here, Siesta Co. uses that idea with Spanish mackerel, organic extra virgin olive oil, yuzu peel, green pepper, and sea salt.

Mackerel has enough flavor and natural richness to stand up to the citrus and pepper. The yuzu is fragrant rather than sweet, while the green pepper gives the oil a mild, fresh heat. The flavor of the yuzu koshō is mild and doesn't mask the flavor of the fish.

Serve over warm rice with sliced cucumber or with a sleeve of crackers.
