Açôr Tuna in Olive Oil with Padrón Peppers

Açôr produces its conservas on São Miguel in the Azores, where tuna has long been an important part of the local fishing and canning tradition.

This tin combines tuna with Padrón peppers, a small pepper closely associated with northwestern Spain and neighboring regions of the Iberian Peninsula. Most Padrón peppers are mild, offering a grassy, slightly smoky flavor that works well alongside the richness of the fish.

The combination adds character without turning the tin into a heavily sauced preparation. The peppers contribute a subtle vegetal note while the olive oil ties the flavors together.

Serve with potato chips and a cold lager, or add to a conservas board alongside olives and pickled vegetables.
