Luças Stuffed Squids in Mediterranean Sauce

Stuffed squid is a classic Portuguese conserva built around a simple idea: use the whole animal. The squid bodies are filled with their own tentacles, giving each piece a dense, meaty texture and making this a very different experience from rings of calamari.

Luças packs the stuffed squid in a Mediterranean-style sauce that adds acidity and seasoning to the naturally mild, slightly sweet squid. The sauce gets into the filling as well as the exterior, so each piece eats more like a composed dish than simply seafood packed in oil.

This is one of those tins that doesn't need much added to it. Warm it up and eat it straight from the tin.  Have some bread handy to mop up the sauce.
